Welcome to Maple Ridge Adventure Club, a program designed for 11-14 year olds who have an interest in high adventure activities and outdoor skills. Each session meets once a week for approximately four weeks to focus on a specific subject or skill, from 3:30 - 4:45 PM. Come join the adventure!

Current and Upcoming Sessions:

Horseback Riding
Tuesdays, April 8 - May 13 ($50)
Get ready to ride! Learn to care for, understand, work around and ride horses. Lessons will be in horsemanship, not just sitting on the back of a horse. Horses and instructors will be provided by Stillmeadow Stable. We will not be meeting on April 15 because of Spring Break.

Wilderness Cooking
Tuesdays, April 8 - April 29 ($25)
Staff seasoned with outdoor experience will teach students the joy of cooking over fire. Students can expect to make and enjoy their own creations. A booklet full of recipes will be given so you can keep practicing your skills during your future camping trips. This class is available to both middle and high school students. We will not be meeting on April 15 because of Spring Break.

Get ready...get set...GROW!
The base for each adventure is Maple Ridge Center, which has several classroom spaces, along with large open barns, acres of open fields and woods that include several miles of groomed cross country ski trails.

Students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of topics like skiing, rock climbing and archery. Session fees include a snack and all equipment and program supplies. Scholarships are available thanks to a grant from the Northern NY Community Foundation.
