About Maple Ridge Center

our mission...

our History...

During the summer of 2002 the Beaver Camp board of directors became aware of an opportunity surrounding the former Seeber horse farm in the town of Lowville. The property had been sitting idle for several years when it was purchased from the mortgage holder by the Pratt Northam Foundation, a local philanthropic organization. Pratt Northam's vision was to preserve as much of the property as possible for uses and programs which would benefit the community.

While numerous organizations and individuals had expressed an interest in owning the property, none appealed to the Pratt Northam board as being willing and/or capable of fulfilling the purposes they had established.that is, until AMCA.P9110389 640x480

In 2007 AMCA took official ownership the part of the property that includes the buildings and part of the back hill. However, an equally large portion the property has been reserved for the formation of a community park, and other parts for future development.
