The 10th Annual Lewis County Harvest of the Arts will combine with our annual Maple Ridge Kite Festival on Saturday, October 2nd from 10 am - 5 pm and Sunday, October 3rd, from 12-5 pm. Harvest of the Arts: We harvest local talent during this festival to showcase and encourage the artists demonstrating their creative processes throughout the weekend. Next door the popular Children's Art Barn returns on Saturday only, where children are given endless opportunities to create their own masterpieces. In addition, there will be the usual uplifting outdoor musical performances, our Tug Hill Quilt Show, wagon rides and lots more fun, fun, fun! As always, delicious food will be available all weekend. Admission is FREE! For more information, feel free to call 376-2640.Kite Festival: Don't miss this incredible family event! Join us and our special guests from the New York Kite Enthusiast (NYKE) club for a fun filled event celebrating friendship, community, and an appreciation for the environment through the joy of kite flying. Admission and all activities are free, open to anyone who enjoys flying or watching kites. Saturday will feature many family oriented activities including air show demonstrations, interactive kite flying, a candy drop, and a children’s kite making workshop. You can bring your own kite or make one for the price of your effort and imagination. Don’t miss Nash the kite flying dog or local children running in kite bol races! Then on Sunday afternoon from our friends from NYKE invite you to join them in flying as many kites as possible for the celebration of One Sky One World Day, an international event where folks around the globe join together each year to fly kites. Hope to see there!
